Job Summary

The primary role of the Sampling Technician/Bearer is collection, documentation, storage, and transportation of samples from the site of collection to various analytical laboratories for analyses. The Sampling Technician is responsible for preparing the necessary equipment for sampling exercises and coordination with laboratory staff to ensure samples meet specifications and timelines. They should have the ability and willingness to complete moderately labor-intensive tasks. They will also, from time to time, perform basic maintenance of equipment used in the field.

Requirements:

• The collection and storage of samples according to the requisite standards.
• The preparation of relevant paperwork.
• The documentation of paperwork on routine activities.
• The execution of calibration activities when necessary.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Holder of a driver’s license with at least 3 – 5 years driving experience.
• The ownership a functional vehicle.

Interpret and record results and be able to use a range of analytical techniques and equipment when performing analyses. Adhere and conform to the QEHL quality management system policies and procedures.

• Ability to use a variety of equipment to conduct analyses.
• Ability to evaluate, analyze and interpret chemical information and data.

• Job Summary

The incumbent will be responsible for project design, planning and execution. This involves managing deliverables, teams, schedules, budgets, and risks. The Project Manager will be responsible for contributing and to select proposals as needed, and will liaise with external agencies and associates as may be related to the business of ESL or the projects assigned.

Qualifications and Experience Required

Project Management Certificate or PMP Certification in addition to:

• BSc BA in Project Management, Sustainable Development, Policy Development, Planning, Environmental Science, Natural Science, Geography/Geology, Climate Science, Environmental Economics or any other applied, physical, earth or social science plus 7 years’ experience in the field of Green /Blue Economy, and /or Project Management

Or

• MSc/ PhD in Sustainable Development, Policy Development, Planning, Environmental Science, Natural Science, Geography/Geology, Climate Science, Environmental Economics or any other applied, physical, earth or social science plus 5 years’ experience in the field of Green/Blue Economy and/or Project Management.
